Agoal celebrates Christmas

Young rugby players of Agoal Rugby Academy got together on the 20th of December 2008 at the CR&FC grounds, Colombo to celebrate Christmas and to rejoice the good progression this year as aspiring young ruggerites.

The Academy is scheduled to commence its sessions on the 3rd of January for year 2009.

Thailand tour in February 2009

The tour to Thailand by the junior rugby squads of Agoal Rugby Academy has been rescheduled for February 2009 by the Tour Organizing Committee due to the unsettled political situation prevailed in Thailand.

Agoal Rugby Academy selected the final U10, U12 and U14 squads to tour Thailand on the 10th to 14th December 2008.



The selections were made by the panel of coaches of ARA, which was comprised with Messrs. D. Nimal, Tomas Paul, L. Peiris, U. Peiris and A. C. Tennakoon.



The Organizing Committee kindly requests the parents/guardians of the selected players who have still not produced the relevant documents, passport, photos etc. to handover those by Monday the 24th November 2008 latest.

About Us

Formed in 2004, Agoal Rugby Academy is a fully fledged coaching academy for young Rugby enthusiasts (both male and female) living all over the country. Located at the Ceylonese Rugby & Football Club, better known as CR & FC, Colombo 7, Agoal conducts its sessions with over 100 young players.

The prime mission of the academy is to pave the way for young rugby enthusiasts to learn this highly attractive sport and enjoy playing under international approved guidelines so they could learn the game and sharpen skills to represent their respective schools successfully. Agoal efforts bore fruits when Chula Susantha, a member of Agoal was selected to represent the Sri Lanka national team (Junior) in 2008.

The vision of Agoal to develop Rugby in Sri Lanka was recognized internationally when the academy was presented an opportunity to play against two visiting teams from Australia and Hong Kong within the last couple of years.

Seminar on the Permance Nutrition

Here is Talavou Alailima (above), a USA qualified Strength & Sports Nutrition Consultant delivering the presentation on Performance Nutrition, which took place on the 23rd of August at the CR&FC Meeting Room.

Talavou Alailima shared his experience and imparted the wealth of knowledge he possesses to the parents of the ruggerites of the Agoal Rugby Academy who had gathered for this educative and informative event.

Before the seminar, the members of the Rugby Academy were served a glass of herbal drink by the coaches to mark the importance of Performance Nutrition.
